Review of Existing Climate Science Research

The first goal of the project was to gain a better understanding of the existing scientific research on climate change and impacts in Russia and to identify gaps in the current research in this area. The review of existing research delivered in this report was led by Climate Change Risk Management (CCRM).

The objectives of the task were to:

  • Collate, review and present existing scientific research on climate change science and physical and socio-economic impacts;
  • Identify knowledge-gaps in the research that could be addressed by the research programme.

The document provides a broad overview of the effects of climate change from the Russian perspective, and summarises the physical impacts driven by recent climate change and observed in Russia. The focus of the review was recent research published in North American and European journals on climate change prediction and landscape responses to climate change.
